Pharmacy, dance studio to open in Henrietta
A pharmacy and dance studio are opening in West Henrietta in mid-September and the building owner is seeking tenants for other areas of the structure.
Miller Pharmacy, a long-term care pharmacy that serves nursing homes and group homes as well as retail customers, is relocating from Scottsville to 201 West Henrietta Road.
In addition to filling prescriptions, the pharmacy will sell medical supplies like walkers and braces, and over-the-counter medications and toiletries.
Michael Welsch, owner of the pharmacy and the building, said the new location gives him four times as much retail space. He said he also has room for several tenants in the building which includes a renovated medical suite, available for rent.
"We have about 15,000 square feet that we're looking to fill with a combination of retail, office and medical," Welsch said.
Welsch already has a tenant above the pharmacy, Platinum Dance Company, which will celebrate it's grand opening Sept. 15. The studio offers standard dance classes such as jazz, tap, ballet, hip-hop and modern along with cheer tumbling.
The studio also offers guitar lessons.
Registration for classes is now open. For more information visit the Web site at www.platinumdancecompany.com or attend an open house. There are three scheduled: Sept. 5 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Sept. 6 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., and Sept. 7 from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m.
The owner of the studio, Rachel Telisky, has a bachelor's degree in dance and choreography from SUNY Brockport. She has also coached cheerleading for the Pavilion Central School District since 2000. She comes from a competitive dance background and she says she wants her studio to have that feel.
"We want to push (the students) every year, and we want them to feel like they are gaining something every year," she said.
"We want them to have fun while they're at it."
